Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, 78, has been appointed as the eight Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak taking over from Tun Pehin Sri Haji Taib Mahmud whose term expired on 26th Januray 2024. He received his appointment letter (watikah) from the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhunm Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah at istana Negara on the 26th of January 2024.
