RURAL TOURISM POSITIONING STRATEGIES BY LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN SARAWAK
RM55.00
The development and marketing of tourism policies are mostly dictated by the interests of the tourists, while the role and perspective of the local community are often ignored. Considering local communities’ perspective help to promote the uniqueness of each community in implementing the positioning strategies. Hence to design and develop a destination image and positioning strategy, tourism planners can leverage local communities’ knowledge of their place and locality. Furthermore, ensuring community involvement is the main requirement for a successful positioning strategy; otherwise, it will lose its uniqueness which can be the unique selling proposition for a particular destination.
